Alright, alright, alright!!! I trust you’ve been following along with the progression of work we’ve been doing with THE CBSI PROCESS. It’s always my true desire for each of you to grow tremendously because of the work we do in–as well as out of–the studio. It could be said that all of you are in THE PROCESS of experiencing a rather intense and unique form of COLD READING: THE LINE LIFTING & RATCHET TECHNIQUE. Granted, this technique is more difficult to learn, apply, and master — but the results are worth it. When you become a master cold reader you will far outshine so, so many of the others you’ll be up against who really don’t have any technique at all! You know, the actors from Tribe Wing-It.
As we move on from this part of the process… let’s take a quick look at another practical area of the craft.
PERFORMANCE WISDOM FROM A REAL LIFE JET FIGHTER PILOT – 1
LINES AND MEMORIZATION
- INSIGHT #1 – Read everything you can.
- INSIGHT #2 – Do the work!
- INSIGHT #3 – Writing your lines down will help you process and memorize them.
- INSIGHTS #4,5,6 – Are on their way!
These are just a few of the many ways to help you with your lines. It’s incredibly important for me to stress to you, the amount of ‘work’ that’s involved in properly preparing for a scene. NO SCHLEPPING!
